About the Assistant Executive Engineer Role

Assistant Executive Engineer positions in power distribution are field-based technical roles requiring hands-on engagement with electrical infrastructure, maintenance operations, and project execution. APSPDCL places AEE candidates in Operation Sections, Maintenance and Reclamation Teams (MRT), Divisional Power Establishments (DPE), and Construction Divisions across Andhra Pradesh’s 9 districts. Candidates must accept posting to field offices in rural and remote locations for a continuous minimum of 5 years with no headquarters transfer during this tenure period.

The role involves technical decision-making, site supervision, equipment troubleshooting, compliance with safety standards, and coordination with field teams. AEE appointments fall under Group A, Level 7 of the Pay Matrix. Career progression in power utilities depends on completion of field service tenure-promotion eligibility, and Special Grade Pay (SGP) increments apply only after the mandatory 5-year field posting concludes.

Salary and Service Bond

Selected candidates receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of ₹75,000 during the 2-year probation period. After successful completion of probation, candidates are placed on the regular pay scale under RPS-2022 with a starting basic pay of ₹86,245 and progression to ₹2,08,915, with annual increments of ₹2,900 to ₹5,020 depending on the pay band.

Every appointed candidate must execute a Service Bond on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of ₹110 at the time of joining, with these key conditions:

  • Minimum service obligation: 5 years post-probation (total 7 years from joining)
  • Certificate deposit: Original Degree, Date of Birth, and Community Certificates must be deposited with APSPDCL for the full 7-year period
  • Certificate access during bond period: If certificates are required, a security deposit of ₹1,00,000 must be paid first and refunded upon return

  • Post-probation exit penalty: Resignation after probation but before completing 5 years of post-probation service incurs a ₹10,00,000 penalty
  • Field posting requirement: All selected candidates must work in field offices (Operation Sections, MRT, DPE, Construction Divisions) in rural and remote locations for not less than 5 continuous years from initial appointment; promotion eligibility and SGP increments apply only after this tenure is completed

Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBT

CategoryMinimum Marks Required
OC / EWS40%
BC35%
SC / ST / PwBD30%

Securing minimum qualifying marks alone does not guarantee a call for certificate verification. Final selection depends on overall merit rank and availability of vacancies in the respective category.

Core Subject Syllabus

AEE/Electrical (70 marks): Electric Circuits, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Utilisation & Control Systems, Measurements, Analogue & Digital Electronics, Power Electronics & Drives.

AEE/Telecom (70 marks): Network Analysis, Fourier Series & Transforms, Electronic Devices & Circuits, Digital Circuits, Linear Control Systems, Transmission Lines & Antennas, Maxwell’s Equations, Waveguides, Communication Systems, Microprocessors.

AEE/Civil (70 marks): Strength of Materials, Reinforced Concrete, Soil Mechanics, Steel Structures, Fluid Mechanics & Machinery, Foundation Engineering.

Selection Timeline After CBT

  1. Initial Key: Released on the 2nd day after the last exam; candidates can file objections within 7 days
  2. Final Key: Released 7 days after the objection window closes
  3. Merit List: Published 7 days after final key (tentatively late September 2026), based on normalised CBT scores
  4. Certificate Verification: Candidates in the merit list (1:1 ratio against vacancies) are called for document verification; absence or ineligibility leads to disqualification
  5. Provisional Selection List: Prepared from candidates found eligible at verification, in merit order with reservation rules applied
  6. Appointment Orders: Issued to candidates in the final selection list, subject to physical fitness and character verification

Tie-Breaking Rules

If two candidates score equal marks, the older candidate is ranked higher. If age is also equal, the candidate who acquired the prescribed educational qualification earlier receives the higher rank.

Normalization

Since CBT may be conducted in multiple shifts, a normalisation procedure will equalise scores across shifts before merit list preparation.

How to Apply for APSPDCL AEE Recruitment 2026

All applications must be submitted online only through the official Common Recruitment Portal. No offline or postal applications are accepted.

  3. Pay the application fee of ₹1,000 through the Payment Gateway (Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI) and save your Journal Number.
  4. Log in using your registration credentials and complete all required fields: educational qualifications, academic details, personal information, and utility/zone preferences.

  6. Select your preferences for participating power utilities (APTRANSCO, APEPDCL, APCPDCL, APSPDCL, APGENCO) and zones. These preferences are final and cannot be changed after submission.
  7. Submit your application before 23:59 hrs on 20 July 2026. Incomplete applications are summarily rejected.
  8. Download your Hall Ticket 7 days before the examination from the official portal using your registration credentials.

Important: Candidates currently serving in Government/Autonomous Body/Local Body/Aided Institution must submit a No Objection Certificate (NoC) from their employer along with the online application.

Common Mistakes to Avoid While Applying

  • Submitting a Distance Mode degree from a study centre of another state’s university, these are explicitly declared not legally valid and will result in rejection at document verification.
  • Leaving any field blank in the online form, the system will not accept an incomplete application, and no corrections are permitted after submission.
  • Changing utility or zone preferences after submission, preferences are final the moment you click Submit; review carefully beforehand.
  • Confusing the Journal Number for a complete application-the Journal Number only confirms fee receipt; the full application form must be separately completed and submitted.
  • Not uploading all required certificates by 20 July 2026-Hall Tickets will not be generated unless all certificates are uploaded by the deadline.
  • Using a mobile number not linked to Aadhaar for registration-OTP verification requires an Aadhaar-linked number, and registration will fail otherwise.

Documents Required for Certificate Verification

Candidates shortlisted for certificate verification must bring original and self-attested copies of:

  • Application form and Hall Ticket
  • Educational qualification certificates (SSC, Intermediate, Degree, and any postgraduate qualifications)
  • Proof of age (Birth Certificate or SSC Memo)

Ans. Candidates must score at least 40% marks (OC/EWS), 35% marks (BC), or 30% marks (SC/ST/PwBD) in the CBT to be considered for further evaluation. Ans. Distance Mode degrees from study centers of state universities located outside Andhra Pradesh are explicitly not legally valid for this recruitment. Only full-time degrees from AICTE-recognized and UGC-approved universities are accepted. Candidates with equivalent qualifications must produce an Equivalency Certificate from the concerned university or a Government Order.
