UP Assistant Professor B.Ed. Recruitment 2026: Educational Qualification

The essential qualifications for the post of Assistant Professor/Assistant Acharya B.Ed. are as follows:

  • Postgraduate degree in Science / Mathematics / Social Science / Humanities with a minimum 55% marks
  • AND M.Ed. with minimum 55% marks
  • OR Postgraduate degree in Education (M.A. Education) with minimum 55% marks
  • AND B.Ed. degree or equivalent with a minimum 55% marks
  • Additionally, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Education conducted by UGC or hold a Ph.D. or D.Phil. in Education from a recognized university.

Selection is based on two stages: Written Examination and Interview.

Written Examination (200 Marks)

  • Objective-type question paper covering General Knowledge (60 questions) and Subject-specific questions (140 questions)
  • Total marks: 200 (General Knowledge: 60 marks + Subject: 140 marks; each question carries 2 marks)
  • No negative marking

Interview / Assessment (30 Marks)

  • Candidates shortlisted based on written exam scores will be called for departmental interview and assessment.
  • Final Merit: Written Exam (200) + Interview (30) = 230 marks total.
