FAQs
Q1. Can a final-year undergraduate student apply for posts requiring a bachelor’s degree?
Ans. No. Candidates must hold a completed bachelor’s degree as on the eligibility cut-off date of 01/08/2026. If your degree is awarded after this date, you are not eligible. Check the official notification for your specific post’s qualification requirements.
Q2. I completed my degree in 2023 with 1 year 8 months of relevant work experience as on 01/08/2026. Am I eligible for a post requiring 2 years of post-qualification experience?
Ans. No. Post-qualification experience of less than six months in any given organization is not counted. More importantly, you have only 1 year 8 months when 2 years is required. You will not meet the eligibility threshold for posts requiring 2 years minimum experience.
Q3. What is the structure of the online test, and are all sections qualifying or merit-based?
Ans. The online test comprises 150 questions totaling 225 marks in 150 minutes. Reasoning, English Language, and Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions and 25 marks each) are qualifying sections only – you must pass them to proceed, but their marks do not count toward the final result. Professional Knowledge (75 questions, 150 marks) is merit-based and directly counts toward your final score. Negative marking of 0.25 marks applies per wrong answer.
Q4. I am an SC candidate. Can I claim age relaxation for a post where my age exceeds the maximum limit?
Ans. Age relaxation of 5 years is available to SC candidates only if a reservation roster point exists for that post in your category. Check the official notification’s vacancy table for your specific post – if an SC vacancy is listed, you can claim the relaxation. If no SC vacancy is available, relaxation cannot be granted.
Q5. If I am selected, how long is the probation period, and when does it start?
Ans. The probation period is 12 months from the date you actually join the Bank after completing all formalities – medical examination, document verification, and police clearance. At the end of 12 months, the Bank reviews your performance, and if satisfactory, you are confirmed in the position.
Q6. I am currently working in a government office. Can I apply without submitting a no-objection certificate right now?
Ans. You can apply now, but you must produce an original No Objection Certificate from your current employer at the interview stage to be considered for selection. The Bank will not accept your candidature for appointment without it. Plan to obtain this certificate in advance to avoid disqualification later.
Q7. Are there any job vacancies reserved for ex-servicemen in this recruitment?
Ans. No. There is no reservation for ex-servicemen in the officers’ cadre (MMG and SMG grades). However, ex-servicemen can apply in the General category and will be considered against general vacancies if they meet all other eligibility criteria.
Q8. If I am selected for a JMG/S-I post and leave within 2 years of joining, what is the service bond penalty?
Ans. Candidates selected for JMG/S-I posts must execute a service bond committing to serve for a minimum of 3 years. If you leave before 3 years are complete, you must pay an amount equivalent to three months’ gross salary, not exceeding ₹2 lakh. The exact amount will be specified in your offer letter.
