WBPSC Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria 13/2024
Nationality
Candidates must be citizens of India or such other nationals as declared eligible by the Government of India.
Essential Educational Qualification (as on closing date)
- A degree from a recognized University or its equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in Bengali (not required for candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).
- Knowledge of Bengali will be tested at the time of the Personality Test for candidates whose mother tongue is other than Bengali.

The examination will be held in three successive stages:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) – Screening Test only
- Final Examination (Conventional Type – Written)
- Personality Test
The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Final Examination and the personality test taken together. Preliminary marks will not be counted for final selection. Negative marking for wrong answers in the Preliminary Examination.
