Vacancies and Research Areas

  • Indore Centre (20 vacancies): Properties of materials at low temperatures & high magnetic fields, thin films/multilayers, microscopy, spectroscopic studies, theoretical condensed matter physics, single crystals, non-linear optics, etc.
  • Mumbai Centre (02 vacancies): Physics of quantum magnets, multiferroics, topological materials, rare-earth intermetallics, strongly-correlated electron systems.
  • Kalpakkam Centre (06 vacancies): Nanostructured materials, magnetism in carbon-based materials, wide band gap materials, energy materials, flexible functional thin films.

Eligibility Criteria

For Indore, Mumbai & Kalpakkam Centres:

  • M.Sc. degree in Physics (2023 or after) with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for reserved & women candidates).
  • Must have qualified for any one of the following:
  • Valid CSIR-UGC NET (Category 1, 2 & 3)
  • JEST 2026 (Rank within top 300)
  • DST-Inspire Fellowship (Ph.D.)
  • GATE (Physics)

Final JRF offer for DST-Inspire candidates is subject to clearance of Level-II evaluation.
