- Professor: PhD with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch, a very good academic record, and 10 years of teaching/research/industrial experience (at least 4 years at the Associate Professor level).
- Associate Professor: PhD with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch, a very good academic record, and a minimum of 6 years of teaching/research/industrial experience (at least 3 years at the Assistant Professor level).
- Assistant Professor Grade-I: PhD with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch, a very good academic record, and 3 or more years of teaching/research/industrial experience (excluding the PhD period).
- Assistant Professor Grade-II (on Contract): PhD with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in an appropriate branch and a very good academic record. Fresh PhD holders are eligible on a contract basis for the first 3 years.
