Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1. Who is eligible for the HAL Apprentices Recruitment 2026? Ans. You’re eligible if you hold a 3-year engineering diploma, a BE/BTech degree, or a non-engineering degree (BA, B.Sc., B.Com, BBA, BCA) awarded on or after August 1, 2021. However, if you already have a year or more of work experience, or if you’ve previously registered under the NATS scheme somewhere else, you won’t qualify for this training.
Q2. When are the walk-in dates scheduled for each category? Ans. The walk-ins are staggered based on your educational background. Diploma holders need to attend on June 18, 2026, while non-engineering graduates are scheduled for June 19, 2026. For BE/BTech graduates, the dates run from June 22 to June 26, 2026, depending on your specific engineering stream. All candidates must report to the Technical Training Institute in Bangalore between 08:00 and 11:00 Hrs.
Q3. How much is the monthly stipend, and does HAL guarantee a job afterward? Ans. Diploma apprentices get a fixed stipend of Rs. 10,900 per month, and both engineering and non-engineering graduates receive Rs. 12,300 per month during the one-year training. Keep in mind that this is purely a training program. HAL does not guarantee employment or promise absorption once your 12-month contract ends.
Q4. Do I need to apply online or just show up for the walk-in? Ans. There isn’t a traditional online application form for this recruitment. You just need to attend the walk-in. However, you must first register as a “STUDENT” on the NATS portal (www.mhrdnats.gov.in). Make sure to print your NATS registration form and bring it with you, as it’s mandatory for the document verification process.
Q5. What specific documents should I carry to the interview venue? Ans. Bring all your original documents along with one set of self-attested photocopies. This includes your 10th marks sheet, your degree or diploma certificate (or provisional), all semester marks sheets, and any GPA/CGPA conversion guidelines from your university. Also, carry your printed NATS registration form, a valid Caste/PWD certificate if applicable, and two recent passport-size photos.
Q6. Will there be a written exam for this selection? Ans. No, HAL isn’t conducting any written tests for this cycle. The selection is based entirely on your academic merit and successful document verification. It also operates on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the number of vacancies available on the day of your walk-in.
Q7. What happens if I reach the venue after 11:00 AM? Ans. If you arrive after 11:00 Hrs, you won’t be allowed inside. The reporting window is strictly from 08:00 to 11:00 Hrs, and the gates close exactly at 11:00 AM. Since spots are given on a first-come, first-served basis, it’s a good idea to arrive early.
